Sculpture Installation Time-Based Media
Jessica Mills is an interdisciplinary artist and MFA candidate at Herron School of Art and Design. She works across ceramics, sculpture, installation, and time-based media. Her work centers on the body as a site of transformation, fragmentation, and reimagining. Organic matter, the fragmented body, decay, connection, and transformation remain throughlines in her work. She finds harmony between birth and death in her body amalgamations. Physical and spiritual states of being flow between realistic depictions and abstract emotional expressions. She has exhibited regionally, received multiple academic awards, and teaches and works as a ceramics technician while developing a body-centered studio practice.
